What is Learning Designer?
Learning Designer is a single-page web application that structures training programs hierarchically. The tool turns pedagogical intentions into concrete operational plans, while maintaining consistency at every level.
How it works
Training is organized into nested levels:
- Modules - the major thematic units
- Moments and sub-moments - the sequences within each module
- Activities - the base unit, with duration, learning type, modalities, assessment, content, and resources
Each activity can be linked to learning objectives, expected outcomes, and skills. The tool automatically checks alignment and coverage.
Analysis tools
- Timelines - a time-based visualization of the training
- Distribution charts - balance between types of activities
- Coverage analysis - verification that all skills are addressed
- Presentation mode - a built-in Slide Deck to display content in slide mode
Data is saved in JSON and can be exported in several formats. The tool also includes a global search.
Who is it for?
Instructional designers, trainers, and teachers looking for a structured tool to plan and document their training. The tool is open source (MIT license) and runs directly in the browser.
